Capturing Life's Moments

A passion for storytelling in books and through the camera lens

About me

My artistic vision is rooted in a desire to shed light on the human experience. I have a passion for story telling whether in literature or photography. My aim always is to capture the essence of my subjects and evoke powerful emotions. In books I explore both the power and the damage of keeping secrets over long periods of time. All my books come from my own experience with the effects of family secrets which, once revealed, provoke a sea change in characters.

Through my portraits of people at the Compassion Center shelter in Albuquerque, I want you, the viewer, to bear witness to the dignity and vulnerability of my subjects, and to see them as the important, valuable human beings they are.

My skateboarder series showcases the freedom and adrenaline of the sport. A society unto themselves, these young risk takers love nothing more than speed, flying through the air over unforgiving concrete. Watch long enough, listen to their banter, and you’ll feel their determination, their perfect skill, and their deadly seriousness.

My campaign for the homeless is about the men and women “shaking the corner” with signs asking passing motorists for work, money, or sometimes just a smile. Through this series I hope to raise awareness and compassion and simply to generate kindness.

With each photograph, I strive to create a lasting impact and spark conversations about important social issues. My work has been exhibited in galleries in the United States and Europe and featured in various publications.
