The Dignity of All People

The People of the Compassion Services Center

These photographs are  rooted in years of concern over the way unhoused people are represented in the media. All too often the focus is on their tents, boxes, and litter. The people themselves seem anonymous as though they form a single category. This is not the truth of homelessness. The people I photograph have led interesting lives, have past careers and back stories. They are kind, engaging, and receptive to being photographed. Each one is a unique and important human being.
